Integration · n8n

QR codes as n8n nodes

Create codes from any data in your workflows, download their images, read scan stats, and start a workflow the moment a code is scanned. The QRvora nodes work on n8n Cloud and self-hosted n8n, and with n8n's AI Agent.

The n8n nodes are in early access. Ask and we'll send you the details.

How to connect, step by step ↓

A workflow, start to finish

  1. 1

    When this happens

    QRvora Trigger · New Scan

Table tents · Austin, US · iPhone

  2. 2

    If

    Only scans in the US

    country is US

  3. 3

    Then

    Slack · Send message

"Table tents scanned in Austin just now"

Ideas to start with

Each one takes a few minutes to build in n8n. Mix and match the nodes.

Google Sheets

Row added

QRvora

Create

Each new row gets its code and a PNG saved to Drive. Write the short link back into the row in the same workflow.

QRvora

New Scan

Slack or Telegram

Send message

"Your shop-window code was just scanned in Austin." Add an IF node so only one city or one code gets through.

Schedule

Every Monday

QRvora

Get Stats

Last week's scans for your main codes, with the top cities, in an email before the team meeting.

AI Agent

Chat message

QRvora

Used as a tool

"Make a code for our new menu page and send me the image." The agent can create codes, look them up and read their stats.

Webhook

New order

QRvora

Create

A personal code for each order or ticket, using the order ID as the unique ID, so a retried webhook never makes two.

QRvora

New Scan

Postgres or Airtable

Insert row

Keep every scan in your own database, next to the rest of your data, and chart it however you like.

What QRvora can do in n8n

QRvora Trigger · start a workflow

  • New Scan Instant

    Pro and Business

Instantly, every time someone scans one of your dynamic codes. Choose one code or all of them.

Gives you: Code name, city, country, device, time

  • New QR Code Instant

    Pro and Business

Instantly, when a code is created in your account: in the dashboard, by API or by bulk upload.

Gives you: Name, short link, destination, type

QRvora node · QR codes and scans

  • Create

    Starter and up

A dynamic code that opens any web address. Map a row or order ID as its unique ID and a re-run never makes a duplicate.

  • Get Image

    Starter and up

The code as a PNG or SVG file, in its saved colours, as binary data for Drive, S3, email or a print shop.

  • Update

    Starter and up

Change where a printed code goes, rename it, or pause it. Every printed copy follows at once.

  • Get Many

    Starter and up

All your codes, or the ones whose name contains some text, with Return All for big accounts.

  • Get Stats

    Starter and up

A code's scans over any period: the total, each day, and the top countries, cities and devices.

  • Get, Delete, and recent scans

    Starter and up

Read one code with its scan count, remove codes, or list the latest scans.

How to connect, step by step

About five minutes, from installing the node to a working workflow.

  1. 1

    Install the node

In n8n, open Settings → Community nodes, click Install, enter n8n-nodes-qrvora and confirm.

Self-hosting with a queue or several instances? Install it as an npm package in your n8n image instead, as n8n's community nodes guide describes.

Community nodes are installed by the instance owner. On n8n Cloud, the owner can install them from the same screen.

  2. 2

Create an API key in QRvora

Sign in to QRvora and open Dashboard → API. Under API keys, give the key a name like “n8n” and click Create key.

Copy the key that appears. It starts with qrf_ and is shown only once.

API keys come with every paid plan from Starter. Your email address needs to be verified.

  3. 3

    Add the credential

In a workflow, add the QRvora node, open Credential to connect with and choose Create new credential. Paste the key and save. n8n checks it straight away.

If n8n says the key isn't valid, check it was copied whole and that the account is on Starter or above.

  4. 4

Pick an operation and test it

Choose QR Code → Create, enter a name and the web address it should open, and click Execute step. The output shows the new code's short link.

For scans, add the QRvora Trigger instead, choose New Scan, click Listen for test event and scan one of your codes with your phone.

The trigger needs an n8n address QRvora can reach from the internet: n8n Cloud, or a self-hosted n8n with a public WEBHOOK_URL.

  5. 5

Add the next nodes and activate

Add what should happen next, like Slack, Google Sheets or Google Drive, map the fields from QRvora, save, and switch the workflow to Active. Every run is listed under Executions.

While a workflow with the trigger is active, its webhook shows in QRvora as "Added by n8n". Deactivating the workflow removes it.

Common questions

Does it work on n8n Cloud and self-hosted n8n?+

Both. Install n8n-nodes-qrvora from Settings → Community nodes. For the instant trigger, a self-hosted n8n needs a public address (WEBHOOK_URL), because QRvora sends each scan to it over the internet.

Which QRvora plan do I need?+

Every operation of the QRvora node uses the API, which comes with every paid plan from Starter. The QRvora Trigger uses webhooks, which come with Pro and Business.

Can I create many codes at once?+

Yes. Feed the Create operation a list (from a sheet, a database or a Split Out node) and it makes one code per item. Map each item's ID as the unique ID: if the workflow is retried or run again, you get the same code back instead of a second one. Each code counts toward your QRvora plan's code limit.

Can an AI agent use it?+

Yes. The QRvora node can be attached to n8n's AI Agent as a tool, so the agent can create codes, find them and read their stats when a conversation needs it.

Are the scan deliveries secure?+

Each delivery is signed with a secret only your workflow knows, and the trigger refuses anything with a wrong signature. A scan carries the code, the city and country, the type of device and the time. No IP address and nothing that identifies the person scanning.

Is the code open source?+

Yes, under the MIT licence. QRvora built and maintains it. If something doesn't work the way you expect, write to support@qrvora.com.
